Unit 1 P2

Principles:
general skills: you have to be good at problem solving. this is important in the gaming industry as you will have to be able to find problems while programming to make sure the code will work. if you are not good at problem solving you will not be able to problem solve than the code will not work.

you have to be good at time management. this is important in the gaming industry as you will have large amounts of work to do and will need to manage your time to get that work done in time for the deadline. employers will look for people who are good at time management because it shows they are hard working and put effort into there work it also makes them seem more professional.

you have to be creative to come up with new ideas. this is important in the gaming industry as you will need to come up with entertaining unique ideas to design games.


interpersonal skills: you need to be able to communicate with other people to share your ideas and to help you avoid making mistakes. this will also be very important in the gaming industry because when working in a team you will have to be able to share ideas and get the work done quicker.

you need to have great listing skills to make sure you understand the work you have been given and to make sure you do the work correctly. this is important in the gaming industry as you will often have to work in groups of people and will have to share ideas.

you have to be good at working in a team because some of the work will not get done before the deadline without working in a team. this is important in the gaming industry as there is a lot of work that is done in teams and you will have to learn to work with a mixture of different people


written communication skills: you have to have correct spelling because people wont be able to understand what you are writing about. this is important in the gaming industry as your work needs to look professional and will be viewed by the people you are working with. this means they must be able to understand your work so using incorrect spelling will make it difficult for other people to understand what you are writing about.

you need good grammar, this is also so people can understand what you are writing and makes your writing look professional. using correct grammar in the gaming industry is important as it makes your work look professional and helps people to understand what you are writing.

you need correct punctuation as it makes your writing make more sense it also makes your writing look more professional. this is important in the gaming industry as your work will be seen by lots of people and it will be important that they can understand your work. also showing your employers that you can use the correct grammar will make them more likely to continue reading your work. without the correct grammar your work will look untidy and unprofessional

General communication skills:
terminology: using this shows that you know what you are talking about and helps people to understand what you are taking about. this is important as it shows you are confident in the topic and makes you sound more professional. this is especially important in the gaming industry as you will constantly need to sound professional. it will also show you have an interest in the topic which is also very important.

engaging audience: this makes it easier for the audience to listen to what you are saying and also makes it more entertaining for them to watch. if you engage the audience it shows you are a confident person and makes them feel more comfortable like they are listening to a friend. this is very important in the gaming industry as you will have to do presentations a lot and it will be important to keep people interested.

adapting: this is a good skill because it means that if your talking to a small group you wont be too loud and if your talking to a big group of people they will all be able to hear you. this will be a good skill in the gaming industry as you will have to work in lots of different environments and being able to adapt to these different conditions means it will be easier to work


interpersonal skills:
singing: this is a good way to show confidence because to sing in front of people you need to be loud and clear so people understand what your saying. showing your confidence is good in the gaming industry as you will need confidence to present your game to potential investors.

active engagement is important because it shows confidence in what you are saying and also shows you are listening to what other people are saying. showing that you are a good at active engagement is a good way to show confidence which is a valued attribute in the gaming industry.  

speed of response is important because it shows you are confident and sure about what you are saying. in the gaming industry it is good as it shows you have put time and effort into researching the topic.

Communicate in writing:
smileys or emoticons: this is a way of putting emotion into what you are writing, usually used in emails or text messages. these emoticons are good at showing people how you are feeling and also makes you seem more confident and your emails seem more friendly.

proofreading: you need to proofread to make sure you have included all that you can and have explained things in the right way. this is a good skill to use in the gaming industry as it means you are less likely to make mistakes.

note taking: this will help when it comes to writing about things because it will help you explain certain things and will give you a list of things that you can talk about. this is good in the gaming industry as you will often have large amounts of information you will have to remember and it will make you seem more organised and more confident about what you are doing.

General attributes: working as part of a team is a general attribute because you need to be able to work in a team of people who are working on the same project as you, you will also need to work with others to get the work done at a faster rate. this is a good attribute to use in the gaming industry and is often valued by employers because there is often a lot of work to get done in a small amount of time. this means being good at team work will make it easier to complete the work on time.

time management is also a general attribute valued by employers in the gaming industry. this is valued because the is often a lot of work to be completed before a deadline and being able to manage your time means you will get the work done quicker and it will also make you seem more organised.


specific attributes: technical knowledge is a specific attribute valued by employers because you need to know how to use the technology required to get the work done, for example if you are a programmer you would need to know how to use the technology. if you didn't know how to use the technology then it would be almost impossible to get it done before the deadline.

good working procedures is a specific attribute valued by employers because your employer needs to know that you know the rules and procedures and will follow them. in the gaming industry this will be valued by employers because there will be large groups of people working on the same thing, they need to be sure you can work sensibly.


attitudes preferred: you need to be good at problem solving because most of the work in the gaming industry is solving different problems so it is required to get the work done to a good standard, for example if you were a programmer you would have to solve different bugs and issues.

leader ship is an attitude valued by employers because it shows you are confident. this is good in the gaming industry as there will be large groups of people working on the same thing. this means they will need someone to help them complete the work on time and being a good leader means you will help them get it done on time.

Unit 1 past present future

Past
I was a member of the digital leaders in secondary school where we learnt various things such as binary and programing, we were also given the responsibility of looking after the computer rooms at lunch times and break times

Present
at the moment I like making 3D models on blender and i enjoy playing games. i do not have a job at the moment.

Future
in the future I would like to make indie games with my friend I would also like to do some contract work doing 3d animation.
