Explain how an awarness of learning styles can aid personal development M3

awareness of different learning styles can aid personal development because it can help you to adapt your learning skills in a way that is more comfortable to you. it is also helpful to know you learning style as it can help you complete your work in a more efficient way. for example if you are a kinaesthetic learner you will find it easier to learn things with physical activity's.

I found out that my learning style was auditory this means I find it easier to learn when people are talking. this means that i will find it easier to understand by listening to instructions. I personally believe that different people have different learning styles but I don't think everyone is restricted to having just one learning style as some people are good at learning from listening to instructions and learning from physical activity's

we did a test to see how well we worked in a group while knowing our learning styles. the test was to see how well we could follow instructions and use our learning styles to work in a fast and efficient way. while doing the test we found out that learning styles do help, for example I am an auditory learner and I had one of my team members who was a visual learner reading out the instructions and explaining them to me as I followed his instructions.

reflector

a reflective learner is a person who is good at listening and adopts a low profile. some strengths to being a reflective learner is they are careful. this means that they will think about things more than other people and will therefore be less likely to make mistakes. they are also good at listening and assimilating information. this means they work well when they are given an instruction and will find it easier to understand things when someone is actually talking to them about it.
there are also some weaknesses to being a reflective learner such as they have a tendency to procrastinate. this means that they would usually choose to play games rather than doing the work which would result in the work not being completed on time or not being completed to the correct standard. another weakness is they have a tendency to hold back from direct participation which means they will not be good at team work and would rather get on with the work on there own.

theorist

a theorist learner is a person who is good at thinking things through. one strength of being a theorist learner is you are good at asking questions. this means they will find the work easier and will often ask for help when they are stuck.
some disadvantages of being a theorist learner is they get easily distracted and often procrastinate. this is a problem as it means they will leave the work till the last minuet and would usually do what they want to do rather than what they need to do.

activist

an activist learner is a person who enjoys new situations and is happy to try new things. this is good as it means they will be good at adapting to new environments and will be able to try new things to improve their work.
a disadvantage to being an activist is they have a tendency to do too much themselves. this is a problem as they will work too much and it will eventually lead to them becoming stressed.

pragmatist

pragmatist learners are people who like to experiment with new ideas and are very good at problem solving. this is good as it means they are willing to try new things to improve there work and are good at solving problems with there work. these attributes are especially good in the gaming industry as game designers often have to travel a lot and they have to work in many different conditions. problem solving is good in the gaming industry as it means they will be good at solving problems with the project they are working on and will help them to work a lot quicker.
some disadvantages of being a pragmatist is they are impatient. this is bad as they will struggle to listen for long amounts of time and will often loose interest in what they are listening to.
